About Nicole Mantooth Photography

Hello my name is Nicole. I am married to a wonderful man named Jacob. I am a mom to 4 amazing sons and 1 baby girl. Photography has always been a passion of mine that started when I was very young. To me a photograph is a frozen moment in time. Photographs embrace emotion and I want to capture that in all the pictures I take. I would love to hear from you at any time. I look forward to working with you as well. Thanks for taking the time to look around my website. You can also find me on facebook at Nicole Mantooth Photography

I fell in love with these cuties as soon as I first saw them. I could not wait to get a chance to photograph them.  So when their mom Ashley called me I was so excited.  Just days before I had been driving by this red wall and instantly knew I wanted to take pictures there very soon.  It was the perfect spot for Ashley and the kiddos.

I LOVE this red wall so much.  I can’t wait to shoot there again.

Here are the cuties.

I love this one so much. It is like he is wispering to his sister.  SO sweet.  I can’t wait to do their family pictures real soon.  Thanks again Ashley for having me photograph your cuties.

I love Home Depot just as much as Jacob does.  Tonight’s trip was one for me actually. I got some supplies for  a few projects I had in mind. I needed washers for necklaces and wood for a growth chart to hang on the wall.

{01.23.2012}
Tonight we had steak sandwiches for dinner.  We haven’t had them in quite some time.  These are a favorite in our house for sure.  Super simple dinner too.  Steak, onions, green bell peppers and spike seasoning.  I love one pot dinners.

{01.24.2012}
Back to school.. FINALLY.  Today was little Jacob’s first day back to school since Christmas break.  Since he got hurt he was on home study and didn’t go to school.  He was a bit nervous, but excited at the same time he said.  I was nervous for him, just because he does still hurt a little and walk slower than before.  He walks with an obvious limp still too. I know he is a tough guy and will do great and it might do him well to finally be getting back to school and our normal routine.

{01.25.2012}
Ok so I will admit it, I am a soda girl, and diet at that.  I used to be only non diet.  But when I was pregnant and diabetic, I only had 2 choices. Either drink diet soda or no soda at all.  So finally I started drinking diet.  Now I won’t drink anything but.  I am only a pepsi drinker too.  We must keep this soda, if no other stocked up in this house.

{01.26.2012}
My family day planner.  Now I may be the only one that writes in here, but it is what keeps our lives completely organized (not that is always is, but I try at least).  I write everything in here.  Then I color code everything so I can look with one glance and see what is going on.  This planner has a full month and then weekly spots as well.  I color code like this: BLUE = all things school related for the kids GREEN = Jacob’s work schedule and payday schedule ORANGE = holidays and birthdays YELLOW = bills due PINK = appointments PURPLE = all my photography appointments and photo shoots.

{01.27.2012}
I started this owl hat for Chloe last year.  I finally finished it up tonight.  I love the colors and how it turned out.

{01.28.2012}
FINALLY!! I finally got my new drivers liscence in the mail today.  It was a long process of getting a new one after the ticket I got back in 2010.

Sunday morning coupon cutting. The boys are always wanting to help me so today I gave them some coupons I wouldn’t be needing and let them go to town with the scissors.{01.16.2012}
One of my favorite things ever is a family night. The babies have been begging for popcorn so tonight Jacob made them some jiffy pop and they thought it was so cool. He also made some in the popcorn machine and they loved that just as much. After this we all snuggled up on the couch (minus Ryan and Marcus because I guess they are too cool for that or something) and put Scooby-Doo on and we all ate popcorn and watched the movie. I ♥ nights like this so much.

{01.17.2012}
For Christmas the 3 littles ones got handmade toy boxes from Grandpa Jim. So today we moved out the huge mess out of their closet, put 2 toyboxes in there and organized them all. We went through every single toy and got rid of all old and broken toys. Now they are all organized and thier room is looking so good. Now if it will only stay that way will be a miracle in itself.

{01.18.2012}
This was tonight at bed time. I love that little Jacob can now read the bed time story to me, Caleb and Chloe each night. He is such a great reader and it is so exciting to hear him read to us and get excited when he does it. Caleb and Chloe love sitting there listening to him read to us.

{01.19.2012}
Oh yes the terrible 2s are upon us already. She was throwing a fit for something she wanted and apparently it wasn’t going her way.  I figured what better way to capture a true photo of her on her 2nd birthday than her in true form.

 {01.20.2012}
I do not like to be in front of the camera, that is why I am a photographer not the photographie. However I was playing with my camera while the kids were in the bath.  I don’t mind this picture and it tells something about me right at this moment.  I have been having to wear my glasses, as in my older age I think I am going blind :}  I always have my camera in my hand.  This is just what I look like at this age.  You can almost always guarantee that my hair will be up.  Even though it is long, it drives me crazy to have it in my face.

 {01.21.2012}
Chloe’s 2nd birthday party was today.  Jacob’s mom always makes the cakes for the kids parties, and I always make some cupcakes for extras.  So in all my fanciness I decorated these with frosting in a can.  :)   It was not very tasty, but sure looked pretty with the dot sprinkles on top as well.  It was a great party as usual.  We all had a great time.

Today was the day for Matt and Amberley’s baby shower at our house. I knew when we found out they were expecting that I at least wanted to throw them a family baby shower for all of us family down here. The day was very nice and they got alot of great stuff, including tons of stuff from Chloe. I am so excited for them I can’t wait to meet Lily.

 {01.09.2012}
Laundry… not something I love doing at all. I have gotten MUCH MUCH better this past year about not letting it pile up too high once it is washed. Now I am trying to be very good about folding it almost as soon as it comes out of the dryer. It seems like this year already it has become my routine to fold it first thing in the morning and get it put away right away. Hope I can stick to this routine.

{01.10.2012}

Oh little Chloe. Full of mischief just like her brother Caleb. I have no idea what she was doing, but she climbed under her tinkerbell table and pulled the chairs in on her. She thought it was pretty funny. She cracks me up. She is becoming one little independent little girl.

{01.11.2012}

It all started last year around this time. The boys had gotten some Legos for Christmas and ever since they have just been nuts for legos. We have several sets and now I need to get a bucket of some kind just to hold all the tiny little pieces. Chloe loves to build stuff now too. They are finally starting to get the hang of just building random stuff with all the pieces and not always having to follow some plan that comes with them. This little fireman guy is their favorite by far.

{01.12.2012}
This little girl cracks me up. Today she decided to put her toast on the kitchen floor and lick the jelly off. I think she learns funny things like this from her mischievious brother Caleb.

{01.13.2012}

Tax season is upon us once again. We have been going to the same tax guys for years. He knows us well. We drop off Jacob’s W-2′s and he does them within a day and calls us with the results. This year Jacob changed his deductions so we get more throughout the year, which benefits us much more.

 {01.14.2012}
Mr Caleb is our sneeky little kiddo. He loves to get back up at night and come sit with us. He says I just love you guys. He usually does something to try to get to stay up, like try to sweep or rub my feet. Tonight he just wanted to eat popcorn and watch a movie on the laptop with us. He didn’t last too long though, he was sound asleep shortly after this.

This little cutie came to see me the other day.  He was such a happy little smiley guy.  His sister hasn’t always been so smiley for pictures, so I was really excited to get a few snaps of them together as well.

When I was editing them I thought one was my favorite and then I would work on the next photo and then I would think that one was my favorite… So I really don’t know if I can actually pick one favorite becasue I love them all so much.

I can’t wait to do these cuties again.

So I am bound and determined this year to start and finish my Project Life.  I am going to take a picture every single day for an entire year.  I am!  Well at least I am going to try VERY hard.  I started in 2010 and only got about 3 weeks into it, but it was very hard since I had a brand new baby the begining of that year.  Then again last year I started and I got a bit further.  I think I only made it until about May and then I got really far behind and gave up once again.
So I am trying my darndest to stick to it this year.  So far so good, but yes it is only February. But still I am on track.
I named ours {mantooth 365} to represent our family for the entire year.

 So instead of bombarding one blog post with the entire month of January, I figured I would update it a week at a time until I am all caught up.  Then I will just update it once a week or so.
So here is week 1 of {mantooth 365}

{01.01.2012}
Jacob had to work tonight so he wouldn’t be home with us at midnight. So we went to him. I put the kids to bed at normal time, then after he left for work we went out there. We had popcorn and sparkling cider while we were out there. When we got home the kids wanted to sleep in bed with me. So we had a little slumber party in our bed for the night.

{01.02.2012}
Tonight Jacob brought the unused tv in from the garage. He set it up in the corner of the family room, out of the way. Then he hooked up the kids’ old VTECH video game for them to use. This way they have their own games to play now. They love it.

{01.03.2012}
This was daddy’s first night home from working graveyard shift. The kids are always so excited when he is home at night. It all started when Caleb was chasing daddy around the kitchen and hallway. Then Chloe got started and it turned into a wrestling match on the family room floor. That soon turned into a pillow fight and daddy was even using the couch cushions. Mommy tried to get in there too, but was easily beaten up by all the kiddos. It was alot of fun, and wore me out completely.
{01.04.2012}

We came down to Bass Pro Shop so Jacob could use his gift card he got for Christmas. We always have such a good time down there just looking around at all the cool stuff in the store. The way the store is decorated is just amazing. The kids love riding the elevator to see all the fish in the water. It was a fun day.

{01.05.2012}

This afternoon while playing in the backyard Jacob fell and hurt himself. He kicked the football, his feet came out from under him and he fell really hard on his hip. Since having his hip surgery 2 years ago we were a bit conserned. At first we thought he would just be ok with some rest, but he wasn’t getting any better so I had to take him to the ER finally. After waiting there for 6 hours and 40 minutes they saw us for 5 minutes and told us that nothing was broken and we could go home with some pain medicine for him. Hopefully he has a fast recovery, daddy and I both hate seeing him in pain.

{01.06.2012}

This is my trusty coupon binder. I never leave home without it. It is all cleaned out and organized to help save us some big bucks this coming year.

{01.07.2012}

This has become one of my new favorite snacks. It is a few differnt trail mix type things that I mixed all together. I got them each at Winco in the bulk section and then just pour them all into a bowl and enjoy. Each kind has a few differnt things, all of which I really like.

My new BABY

Yes my new baby.  That’s right. I finally got her.  Last week  Jacob and I were running some errands and he was asking about the layaway for my camera. I told him all the details and what we still owed on it.  So he said ok lets go get it right now.  I kept telling him no and he insisted.  So he got right on the freeway and drove down to the Sears in Rancho Cucamonga and paid the final 2 payments of the layaway contract and she was mine to take home righ then and there.  I was so excited.
He said he couldn’t wait to see my smile when it was in my hands, and boy was I smiling.  :) :) :) :)   I took this picture right when I took her out in the car.  She is very different from my Sony so I read the manual just to make sure I covered all the basics.  She is so fancy, I just love her.  I can’t wait to see who will be my first photo shoot with her.
I have a shoot scheduled for this weekend, and possibly my friends little boy one day this coming week as well.  Oh I love her so much.

I am FINALLY updating my website and blog. I was having so many issues with alot of spam that it was making it impossible to even post anything.  So I think my brother finally got that all taken care of.  Then this week I have been updating the look of the blog and I am really loving the new look.  All new and fresh for a new start into 2012.
I hope everyone has had a great start to this year.  Me, I can’t complain one bit.  Life is truely good.

I thought I would share some photos of the first family I was lucky enough to photograph this year.  I drove down to a hotel that they were having the parents 50th wedding anniversary party at.  We took the pictures before the party since they would all be there together.  They were alot of fun and I was very excited that they chose me to do their photos.  Thank you Huff family.

Now I am off to bed becuase I have a full week of photo shoots ahead of me.

updating…

May 16th, 2011

I think since I was little I always like to change things up.  I would rearrange my room a million times and as I got older I would do the same with my apartment.  When I was in college I would rewrite my notes using different colors each time.  (I am a visual learner and it helped me remember it all, especially in Biology).
Going along with the visual, I think that is why I just was in such a need to change the look of the website.  I love this new look and plan to keep it for a while.  So now that I am all updated with that, I can get started to updating with some new posts and photos to share as well.
I will be working on that this week….

Until then…. ~Nicole Mantooth

{ nicole mantooth photography } babies

When I was shopping for Handy Manny birthday party supplies at Michaels I came across this super cute square hat box.  I loved it the minute I saw it and then I loved it even more after I saw the clearanced price of $3.24.  Who cares that the side was ripping off, for that price I could deal with it.  I got it and just taped it back together with some transparent tape as soon as we got home and wala, good as new.

So it sat in the closet for a week or two until I was able to pull it out one morning and get it all set up to test out.  Of course my miss Chloe is the perfect little model to use.  :)

She was getting fed  up with me a bit so I did have to bribe her to stay in the box with some peanut butter cookie .  hehehe
